Strengths: Neil Diamond
Critics love to negatively criticize this movie, but they are so wrong. The Jazz Singer is wonderful story of a young man, Neil Diamond, who is yearning to fulfill his dream of being a singer and songwriter while trying to live up to his father's and wife's expectations. Al Jolson is NOT in this movie. This movie was released in 1980, many, many years after the Al Jolson version.
If you enjoy Neil Diamond's hits: "America" "Love on the Rocks" and "Hello Again", you will enjoy this break away from foul language and nudity.
