Apple iPod mini 4GB MP3 PlayerStrengths: Mechanically it is hard to imagine something built more sturdily. Like most Apple products, this is the sort of thing that can be used in textbooks on how to design consumer hardware. Weakness: It is designed for only one person to use it. If you load it with songs and someone else connects it to their computer, it wants to synchronize and will destroy the contents When it tries to synchronize with another instance of iTunes you have two choices: (1) do not synchronize or (2) lose all the music currently stored on the iPod. Also, iTunes would not allow me to store other things I was able to play on the iMac in iTunes (MP3 files located elsewhere on my house network). I don't know that it is impossible to get the songs loaded, but it is certainly not obvious how to do so. I was able to load music from some CDs I had (both purchased and burned collections of songs I have). 91% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Apple iPod mini 4GB MP3 PlayerStrengths: 1)The ease of browsing/organizing your music library, and that's what a portable mp3 player is for! 2)The design: strong built, high end sexy look :) Weakness: 1) Price 2) Battery life (for some) 3) Have to spend $50 for battery (if you replace it by yourself) or $100 to send it to Apple, and guess what: they will return it with a new/USED/REFURBISHED I've been doing some research on the ipod mini and the Creative Muvo 4gb after I placed an order on Amazon today for the ipod mini. I don't think I will regret it because: 83% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Apple iPod mini 4GB MP3 PlayerStrengths: Size, features, sturdy construction, excellent readability for small size screen, excellent backlight brightness. Sound quality is excellent, very satisfying with better headphones. Weakness: Battery life as mentioned by others is much less than 8 hours, it loses its charge if not used over weekend. Headphone jack has lost the solid feel when connecting headphones. But still recommended. I have the 40gig third generation which is filled with my 600+ CD collection which I was using on a daily basis and for extended trips. I never ran out of songs to listen to when on vacation but was not really necessary for my daily commute. The mini now serves as my daily commute player. It holds more than enough songs for more than a week since I only listen when commuting. I always replace the stock headpones with Sony in the ear phonotopias. They block out a lot of street and subway noise and they definitely sound better than the stock phones. 81% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Apple iPod mini 4GB MP3 PlayerStrengths: Size, Weight, and ease of use. Weakness: Battery life, Armband comfort. I have had the mini for about 6 months. Befor eit I had a 20Gb Ipod, when I made the swich to a smaller Ipod with less storage I was worried that i would move alot of songs around. This has not been the case and I have not regreted making the swich at all. The armband can get a little uncomfortable after a long run. thats about it. it's the BOMB! 81% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Apple iPod mini 4GB MP3 PlayerStrengths: Perfect design with strong anodized-aluminum shell and 5 colors you can choose. The scroll-wheel is very easy to use. Weakness: No FM, also can't work as a voice recorder. Ordered one 2 months ago and finally got it after a long long time waiting. :) I'm very happy with it now. 81% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Apple iPod mini 4GB MP3 PlayerStrengths: Lightweight, compact mp3 player with great sound quality Weakness: holds 1000 songs, might not be enough for some people with large music collectoins Overall, the ipod mini is a fantastic product. The sound quality is amazing, and the interface is very easy to use. The integrated touch wheel and click buttons are a big improvement over the regular ipod interface (separate buttons and wheel). The ipod mini also comes with a belt clip, and firewire and USB cables. Considering these extras, its a great buy. 69% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Apple iPod mini 4GB MP3 PlayerStrengths: Size, storage, durability, ease of use Weakness: price We researched and reviewed a lot of mp3 players and found the IPod Mini to meet all of our expectations. We downloaded ITunes software, purchased music and used it extensively before even purchasing the mini. We found the software extremely easy to use and purchasing songs is a snap. Much better than other software programs I have used. I would definately recommend the mini to other buyers. 69% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Apple iPod mini 4GB MP3 PlayerStrengths: (1) good user interface (2) well engineered in nearly every aspect (3) plays a wide variety of audio formats (including my weird .wav files) Weakness: (1) as a USB hard drive on Windows machines, it requires extra software (2) short battery life (~ 7 hours), needs cheap replacement battery (3) pricy accessories ($30 headphones? I don't think so) Despite the weaknesses I mentioned, I recommend the iPod mini. 67% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Apple iPod mini 4GB MP3 PlayerStrengths: VERY good sound quality, lots of storage, easy use. Weakness: Must look at screen, wheel is sometimes hard to operate. I LOVE this product! It is my 1st Mp3 Player, so I was a novice, but it took me about 3 min. to figure it out. The battery life is great, and so charging isn't a daily process. The only problem: I run a lot and to pick a song you must look at the screen. Overall, this is a great Mp3 player, and it is worth the money. 64% of readers found this review helpful. Apple iPod mini 4GB MP3 PlayerStrengths: very light weight, tough, fun! Weakness: the batteries do not last 8 hours this is definitely a plus to the original ipods, it's smaller, looks cooler, and simply more practical. the belt that is included really came in handy when i went jogging. in addition to all of this, the most beneficiary plus to all of this is that it is one tough gadget! 58% of readers found this review helpful. love itStrengths: Have all your music at one time. You don't have to pick a specific CD, it's all in one spot. Weakness: Battery life does not seem to last to long, at least for my use. It is a great product to have. I use it practicly every day. You can have up to 1,000 of your favorite songs at your finger tips. It's small so you can have it any where. It is so easy to put songs on it from your collection of music, as well as purchase songs off of the music store. It really only takes a couple of minutes to add songs. I highly recomend it for any music lover. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

OK ipod mini - itunes needs workStrengths: Holds a lot of music, small, light Weakness: the battery sucks, if you're not careful with the click wheel volume, you can inadvertently blast your ears I got mine free from my old boss - if I had paid for this I would have been disappointed. iTunes is the bigger culprit rather than the actual ipod itself. When I bought a new computer, even though I followed directions for transferring my purchased music, I lost several songs. Very irritating Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Ipod Mini 4GBStrengths: holds lots of music, easy to use, small, lightweight, sound quality Weakness: pricey, no radio functionality This is the first MP3 player that I've bought and used. My main reason for purchasing it is to use to workout. After purchasing and using it, I noticed I could've bought the shuffle for cheaper since that was my only reason for buying it. The shuffle does hold less songs, but who really needs 1000 songs if only using it to work out? Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

iPod mini
It's incredibly small and light, comes in five different colors, and has the lowest price of any product bearing the name iPod. Yet the iPod mini is a controversial product, mostly because it doesn't meet the expectations of people who wanted a truly low-cost iPod targeted at a mass market. But the iPod mini shouldn't be faulted for what it isn't. Instead, let's appreciate it for what it is -- an... Top

Apple iPod mini 4GB MP3 Player
Strengths: Amazing design and menu system.
Weakness: None.
Despite initial criticisms for its $249 price tag, Apple certainly got it right with the iPod mini.
I've had a few flash MP3 players in the past, and I am stunned at what I have been missing. Now I can carry my entire music collection with me, it's a lot more enjoyable -- no more listening to the same 20 songs over and over and over.
Battery life seems to be about 7-8 hours, and this thing charges very quickly. It's a breeze loading songs on to it -- iTunes is very intuitive, and blows the socks off MusicMatch.
The best aspect of the iPod is it's menu system. When I show people my Mini, they're consistently amazed that I can pull up any of my five hundred or so songs in just a second with a twirl of my fingertip.
At $249, it's a must-buy, unless your music collection is larger than 4GB, in which case you should probably spring for the full-sized iPod 20GB for $50 more.
