Strengths: All aspects of copying DVDs.

Weakness: None that I can find.

What a pleasant surprise when I was able to bid on this DVD burner in UBID on the Internet and received a beautiful external instrument that plugged easily into a USB outlet on my COMPAQ computer and worked flawlessly right from the start. The price was extremely competitive ($75 plus $6 shipping). I have copied, so far, approximately 10 full length movies for back up of my movie collection (with the aid of an underlying downloaded program for that purpose). I swear that the copies are as nice and clear as the originals, with loss of maybe 2 disks during the learning process. It works well with either (+) or (-) R DVDs and plays both type of DVDs equally well. The -R DVDs played more readily on my other DVD player than did the +R, so that I prefer the DVD -R for routine use. I highly recommend this HP 420e DVD burner. This was my first DVD burner experience.
