Best Pointing Device I've Ever Used

Strengths: Small size, comfort, programability, options, carrying case, and extension cord to plug receiver into desktop unit.

Weakness: NONE that I've found!

Great mouse. Got it on sale which made it even better. Has in effect SEVEN programmable buttons, including the two switches on the sides of the scroll wheel. I wasn't using the side scrolling so I reprogrammed the two switches on the sides of the scroll wheel to give me "back" and "forward" (left and right) when surfing. Very smooth and responsive operation. Programming is extremely easy with tons of options for each button. The TINY receiver projects only 1/4" and I just leave it plugged into my laptop all the time. I'm using it on a MacBook Pro, but it'd work as well on one of my PCs I'm sure. I'm a long-time Logitech trackball fan, but this mouse has won me over. I love it and recommend it without reservation. (I noted in one place that it supposedly has rechargeable batteries. Not so, it uses 2 AAA batteries, but the mouse goes on standby when not used so they last seemingly forever. There is an on-off switch for traveling, and a receptacle in the mouse to store the receiver.)

VX Nano = Excellent little mouse overall

Strengths: Small mouse = great portability --- Tiny reciever --- Scroll wheel modes --- Excellent battery life --- Logitech quality

Weakness: Small mouse = uncomfortable to use for prolonged periods --- Scroll wheel mode transition feels cheap

If you are looking for a good portable mouse for your laptop with all the features of a good desktop mouse, you will not be disappointed with the VX Nano. I had a hard time deciding between the VX Revolution and the VX Nano. I liked the button placement of the Revolution better, but wanted the tiny reciever that comes with the VX Nano. I chose the VX Nano. These are my thoughts after a little over 3 months of use.
-------------
NANO RECIEVER:
The tiny nano reciever is a dream. You can just stick it in your USB port and never think about it again. I was a little worried about leaving it inserted in the USB port all the time, thinking that it might work itself out over time and get lost, or maybe get bumped and break itself or my USB port. I am happy to say that after several months of use, I have had no such problems. It has a nice tight fit in the USB port. It's as if it's not even there.
-------------
VX NANO MOUSE:
The mouse works great, as it should. It has all the buttons that you would want in a mouse. The wheel has two modes; a clicking mode where the wheel clicks lightly as it scrolls a few lines at a time, and a free spinning mode that allows you to silently rip through long web pages or documents in a flash with no clicking sounds. I love this feature. In order to change scrolling modes you simply push down on the scroll wheel. When you push down on the wheel, you will hear a click and feel the scroll mechanism change modes.

--SIDE NOTE-- When changing scroll modes on the VX Nano, the feel is a little loose or sloppy feeling during the split second transition when compared to the MX Revolution that I bought for my wifes desktop. The MX Revolution (not to be confused with the VX Revolution) has a nice tight and smooth feel during the transition. (I highly recomend the MX Revolution for desktop use.) In any event, the scroll wheel works great in both modes.
---
Also, this mouse is small, of course. After all, it is designed for portability. Being that it's so small, it does not have a very comfortable feel. I am an adult male. The mouse is a little longer than my middle finger, so during use, the mouse rests under my fingures only, not under my palm like a desktop mouse would. It's not bad, but it just doesn't have that really snug comfortable fit, like the MX Revolution which just feels like it's part of your hand. I would suspect that this shortcoming is true of any laptop mouse.
---
I have yet to change out the batteries. I have been using the VX Nano for a little over 3 months and my remaining battery power shows 80% remaining.
---
I would buy this mouse again.

Best notebook mouse available?

Strengths: Size, sturdy, battery life

Weakness: Placement of back/forward buttons

I received this mouse as a present for Christmas. I previously had a Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse that served me well. But I have a little 14mo. daughter that loves to try and pull at the USB receiver. Not a good thing.

But with the new receive for this VX Nano, there's virtually nothing for her to grab. When people say the receiver is small, it's an understatement. I sometimes wonder how the mouse works so well with such a small receiver...all I know is that it gets the job done.

With the mouse itself, it has a sleek design that's very comfortable to hold. Hard-rubber sides ensure a firm grip, which is helpful for those with larger hands. On the bottom, you'll find the laser eye as well as the power button and the battery lever and door. Inside the battery compartment, you can store the USB receiver if you decide to detach it from your laptop.

The scroll wheel is made out of solid stainless steel with a rubber grip for your fingertips. The stainless steel construction gives it a very solid feeling as you scroll with the wheel. Plus, the scroll wheel gives you two modes of operation. The first is the standard "click" scrolling that's found on most mice, and the second is a "smooth" no-resistance scroll. You can change modes by pressing firmly on the scroll wheel itself. I find that the smooth scroll is most beneficial for very long pages as you can let the scroll wheel run longer with a flick of your finger.

I had to install the OEM software to customize some of the button functionality but no biggie.

If there's any fault on this mouse, I would have to say it's the placement of the back/forward buttons. They are located, in tandem, on the upper left of the left click button. It's an awkward placement that I'm just not used to. If they were placed more to the side so that I can use my thumb, it would have been perfect.

Great Little Mouse

Strengths: Small, easy to carry, carrying case to protect it

Weakness: Little pricy unless you get a rebate

I purchased this for my new laptop. It works great. Small and fits inside the holder for storing. I did have my laptop in another location and moved to a glass table and the mouse did not work on the glass tabletop. Had to put a mouse pad under it. Other than that, it has worked great. Highly recommend.

The Best Laptop Mouse

Strengths: Small size, tiny receiver, storage compartment for USB receiver, programmable buttons, battery meter on the mouse, comfort, performance

Weakness: not known

This is the best mouse for a notebook.
Feels more like a standard mouse and is still very portable. The storage compartment in the mouse is a big plus. When you store the USB receiver in there, the mouse automatically turns off and when you eject it, it turns back on. You won't be disappointed.

MIGHTY MOUSE

Strengths: SMALL RECEIVER, NICE SCROLL WHEEL, COMFORTABLE, NICE SOFTWARE

Weakness: NONE YET

This is a GREAT mouse. I have always purchased Logitech products. This mouse has a great feel and preforms well. It was very easy to install on my computer and works with XP and Vista. It operates on any suface (so far). It is well worth the money. However, I would shop around for the best price.

TWO THUMBS UP!!!

Strengths: VERY SMALL RECIEVER,very comfortable, easy to install

Weakness: none

Best notebook mouse I ever had. It's small but very comfortable. And the best thing about it is its RECIEVER.
I used to have Microsoft Laser Mouse 6000. Kept forgetting to unplug the reciever - at some point its just got broken off. The VX NANO RECIEVER you can just leave it plugged in and forget its even there. TWO THUMBS UP!!!

Great Universal Mouse

Strengths: Small receiver. Can be used right or left-handed.

Weakness: None

This is the second VX Nano mouse I have purchased. The first I use on my laptop and this one is used to supplement my corded mouse on my desktop PC (both mice can be used at the same time). I use the corded mouse on the right of the keyboard and the wireless on the left when my right arm gets tired of mousing.

Great small mouse

Strengths: Fast and efficient with lots of nice features. It's accurate and smooth and had several nice scrolling features. It's not too small, but just right for taking with you when you travel.

Weakness: Obviously a little expensive

I bought this mouse to use with my laptop both at home and while traveling. It has not disappointed. Compared to some cheaper mice, it is a night and day difference. It's worth the extra dollars. I would definitely recommend this mouse for just about any situation.

Great device

Strengths: small receiver can stay plugged into laptop; smooth, precise operation; comfortable mouse; power-saving off button

Weakness: none so far

I just got this wireless mouse today, and I am so pleased, I'll be ordering another one for my husband. This product comes with the batteries, a small zippered carrying pouch for the mouse, and a small dock for the USB receiver if you are using a desktop computer (I'm not). It's plug-and-play for basic features, or you can install software from an included CD for additional features. The USB receiver is tiny--you can leave it plugged into your computer, or if you prefer, you can remove it and store it in the mouse's battery compartment. Far superior to the average wireless mouse!

Great Compact Mouse with Full-Size Features

Strengths: Very compact. good button layout, awesome receiver concept that for from long ranges too (I use it from about 10 feet), nice pouche to hold mouse, accurate laser and works on most surfaces.

Weakness: kind of small for my hands, but then again, it is a compact mouse. i have carpel tunnel and it doesn't aggravate the pain in my wrist, so it's still pretty good size.

i would totally buy this mouse if you're looking for a nice compact laptop mouse. it has many functions and the buttons are all programmable. can do most things that you would want to do. one thing that i tried to do and doesnt work is setup a button to change programs (alt+tab), becuase the provided program doesn't allow you to type in the command, but rather, press the command, causing my computer to switch to another program. a little annoying, but whatever. its a good mouse.

Incredible!!!!

Strengths: great scrolling fits nicely in hand light

Weakness: storage of receiver

I love this on my laptop -- in fact two of my friends have bought it after seeing mine. It fits my hand really nicely, it's easy use to use, and you have to try the new scroll wheel to understand how incredible it is. The receiver is so small it barely protrudes from the USB port. The only down side I can find is that, to store or retrieve the receiver, you have to pop off the battery cover from the bottom rather than, say, sliding it in to the base.

Excellent mouse...

Strengths: Well suited to a small hand, nice ergonomics, awesome usb transmitter

Weakness: Roller a bit sluggish

The tiny transmitter is awesome; it's small enough to leave in all the time without problems. The mouse itself is fantastic for a person like me with small hands. However, even with modifications, the roller is sluggish for my tastes. Nice options for customization let you, for the most part, customize the mouse to suite your preferences. All in all, a fine product.

Best wireless notebook mouse I have ever owned

Strengths: tiny receiver, great built quality, dual-mode scroll wheel, power saving mode, laser based tracer, nice carrying porch. long battery life.

Weakness: The RF receiver is till noticeable on my notebook. Might hit one of the side button accidentally and bring up zooming window.

This mouse worked the first time I pluged in it's tiny receiver to my notebook PC (Lenovo running Vista). By installing the included software (better download the newest from Logitech) you get more features, but it's not required if you only need basic operation.

I like the design (an on/off button and a slot to store the receiver inside this mouse), the built quality (smooth bottom and comfortable top holding surface) and the dual-mode wheel (scroll slow or fast). You switch between modes by clicking on the wheel. Most of the buttons are customizable.

It uses 2 AAA batteries, and has efficient design to conserve the power.

The operation is very smooth, thanks to the laser tracer it used. It's much better then my previous MS optical wireless mouse.

Excellent mini-mouse!

Strengths: Great size and comfort. Excellent range and battery life.

Weakness: Price? No obvious flaws to complain about.

I hate OEM software, so I didn't install anything from the CD, and it was completely plug and play in XP and OS X; no extra drivers needed. I highly recommend it!

Awesomeness infused in a mouse

Strengths: Awesomeness infused in a mouse

Weakness: none

I've had this mouse for about a month now and I love it. The free scroll wheel is awsome for big web pages, and I didn't know this when I bought it, but you can change it to click-wheel by pressing on it. I'm still using the same batteries that it came with,

Great wireless mouse

Strengths: Great size/weight for travel. Very responsive. Tiny receiver.

Weakness: Not as comfortable as last year's model.

I'm very impressed with the VX Nano. The new receiver's tiny size means you don't have to worry about breaking it if you leave it plugged in and start carrying the laptop around. I'm very happy with the size and weight of the Nano, though the size of last year's Revolution gave it a little extra curve which felt more comfortable. I'll take the portability/receiver/etc. over last year's though for sure. In all, you really can't take much away from this mouse - definitely a keeper.

VX Nano

Strengths: Small, light, portable, comfortable to use.

Weakness: Scroll wheel becomes frictionless after a couple days.

The mouse could be perfect if the scroll wheel would not become frictionless after a couple days of use. I've exchanged the mouse for another one and the same thing keeps happening. After my second day of using it, the scroll wheel becomes very loose. Otherwise the mouse would be perfect.

Nano

Strengths: Best laptop mouse ever!

Weakness: There is nothing wrong with this mouse except maybe the mouse is too small for my hands.

The only complaint that I have with this mouse is that the mouse is too small for my hands but it is still comfortable to use. I have gotten used to it and it is a great addition to my mobile accessories.

Logitech Nano

Strengths: Small USB receiver, great mouse, awesome scroll

Weakness: Feels cheap

I really love the mouse. It has really cool features like a storage for the receiver and an eject button for it. I also love how frictionless the scroll wheel is. But sometimes I feel that the mouse has too much of a cheap plastic feel to it. It feels flimsy at times.

VX Nano Cordless Laser Mouse

Strengths: Small size; tiny receiver; easy to use; high product quality

Weakness: driver (LLC) is not friendly to Mac users

As usual, Logitech provides great quality mouse. This Nano is not an exception. I have used it for two months, and very impressed with its good quality, especially the tiny receiver. I don't have to unplug it before putting my laptop into the bag. I don't feel it's existance at all. However, its driver cause a lot of system crashes to my Mac laptop, so I have to use 3rd party driver for this great device.

Overall, this is a great mouse for laptop users. I still love it...!!

VX Nano Cordless Laser Mouse

Strengths: Easy to use, Great tiny receiver, precise point.

Weakness: driver is very poor designed

I have used this mouse for weeks. This device is just great in use, comfortable when you hold it in your hand. The tiny receiver is just great for the laptop. You don't have to unplug it in order to put it in the bag. Just leave it there, you won't fee anything sticking out. However, the downside is that its driver LLC is a little bit poor designed. It cause a lot of crash problems to my Mac laptop.

Most advanced laptop mouse you can buy.

Strengths: You can plug the tiny receiver in permanently and forget about it for good! The scroll wheel can be toggled from smooth to ratchet mode via a click. Comes with a carry case, looks great.

Weakness: A bit pricey if not on sale, might be a bit small for bigger hands. Software could be better with more features.

When I first saw this mouse I figured it was a great mouse for laptop users who don't have bluetooth. After using it, I found that it's actually superior to any bluetooth mouse available because of its responsiveness, looks, and features. Once you plug in the tiny receiver, you can forget about it for good. I hope all mice, large and small, will feature such a tiny receiver in the future. This is without a doubt the best laptop mouse available. Logitech threw in a carry case and batteries, too!

Best Laptop mouse available

Strengths: The receiver is so tiny and can be left in your laptop forever. Scroll wheel can be switched from ratchet to smooth mode with a click, looks beautiful, feels solid, comes with carry case.

Weakness: Might be a bit small for bigger hands; Logitech software is known to be buggy at times.

I have been using this mouse for a few weeks now, and I am quite satisfied with my purchase. The tiny receiver that you can leave permanently plugged in is something that all mice should feature from now on. This is without a doubt the best laptop mouse you can buy simply because of the tiny receiver, quality of materials, laser tracking, generous number of buttons, great scroll wheel, and superb looks. The carry case and long batteries seal the deal. However, those with big hands might first want to try out the mouse for comfort.

VX Nano Cordless Laser Mouse

Strengths: You can scroll up and down smoother than other mouse.

Weakness: The buttons on the mouse and right and left scroll don't work on my computer.

The USB is small and I didn't have any problems connecting my computer to the mouse. Besides, the nice thing is that the cord doesn't bother me at all when I move the mouse because it's wireless.

Great notebook mouse

Strengths: Great performance

Weakness: pricy

This is by far the best notebook mouse I have used! The latest laser technology from Logitech works really well on my notebook. No lagging at all! And the tiny receiver is a great plus. Two batteries last for a long time (about 3 months). I would recommend this mouse for anyone that needs a high quality notebook mouse except that it is a little pricy.

Great mouse !

Strengths: Small, cute, light, and easy to install

Weakness: expensive?

I used V250, V270 and V500 and I like V500 among them.
However, it was not bluetooth mouse therefore I tried to use V270 as a bluetooth mouse.
However, it was uncomfortable and too heavy.

I gave up the bluetooth mouse and tried to find USB cordless mouse.
Installation takes quite a few minutes (Actually, it took time to take off the mouse from a box)

Here's all the OTHER good stuff about the VX Nano:

1. It's cordless, not bluetooth but perfect for me
2. It's compact and cute, and ergonomic
3. There's a LED indicator on the bottom of mouse in order to tell you when your batteries need changing
4. you can get a nice Logitech zippered case (I used a V500 case as my digital camera case)
5. It comes with an "extension cord," but I don't need it.

Excellent mouse but not for big hands

Strengths: Very small receiver, quite portable

Weakness: Not too good for people with big hands. The software doesn't work well with Macs.

I got this mouse because I was looking for a wireless mouse with a small receiver that wouldn't be in a way all the time. All other models that I looked at had a receiver about one and a half inch long. I guess it is a standard these days, but it is not convenient when you carry around your laptop. With VX Nano you can plug the receive in and just forget about it (just like their ad says). Overall, it is a great mouse. The only thing I didn't like is that it is as comfortable for people with big hands as Logitech MX. I wish Logitech tech offered a normal size wireless mouse with the same tiny receiver.

Great laptop mouse

Strengths: * Tiny USB receiver * Ergonomic shape that does not discriminate between lefties and right-handed users * Excellent feel * Soft travel case (finally!)

Weakness: None

The new Logitech VX Nano is a superb laptop mouse. It appears to be slightly smaller than Logitech V450. The new tiny nano receiver is excellent--you can leave it in the USB port of your laptop, just as Logitech product description suggested. Another welcome "innovation" is addition of a convenient travel pouch. By pressing the scrolling wheel, the users can select between "cranky" and super-smooth scrolling modes. I love this little mouse!

Apple? Full time use?

Strengths: Great fit for a "mobile" mouse. Extra buttons. Scroll wheel dual function

Weakness: Logitech software

I read a few reviews about this mouse and still I had two questions. Hopefully, this answers some questions that haven't been addressed in reviews elsewhere.
1. Can this mouse replace a desktop mouse? Sure. It's small, but plenty comfortable for daily use. I suggest rechargeable batteries in an effort to create less waste. Also, the mouse has multiple buttons that you often see on desktop mice, making it an easier replacement for desktop counterparts.
2. Does it work well on an Apple? Yes! Just don't use Logitech software. I use Steermouse and it works wonderful. I was up and running in about 30 seconds.

Logitech VX Nano Cordless Laser Mouse

THE GOOD: Two modes for the scroll wheel let you spin through long documents quickly; very portable; the Logitech VX Nano laser mouse is shaped for both left- and right-handed users; programmable buttons; tiny receiver stores inside the mouse; laser tracking for precision on many surfaces. THE BAD: Somewhat expensive; may be too small for people with large hands. THE BOTTOM LINE: If you can...
