iPod USB Power AdapterStrengths: well made, white, does not take much space on power strip, Weakness: white, no cable, expensive Very happy with adapter. Well made, white, does not take much space on power strip. I like white. Using it to power external 2.5" Hard drive. Apple products usually work better than most manufacturers. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

iPod USB Power AdapterStrengths: Lightweight. Portable. Able to purchase different plugs for foreign country use. Weakness: Shape could be different to reduce the distance the unit sticks out from the outlet. This is a nice add-on for the iPod. The power adapter is lightweight and portable, making it great for travel when you won't have computer access. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

I can't believe I had to pay for thisStrengths: It works, that's about it Weakness: EXPENSIVE Please tell me why we have to pay for the ability to charge our ipods? I really hate the fact that you have to pay for something so simple. All the accessories for the ipods are a ripoff. I would recommend getting a cheap belkin accessory over this. the one thing I can say about this is that it works. 80% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Does what it's supposed to... ChargeStrengths: Uses USB Cable Included with iPods Weakness: Price, Size It's unfortunate that Apple doesn't include the power adapter with the iPod shuffle, the iPod nano and the newer iPod mini's... forcing users to shell out an additional $30 if they want to charge their iPods away from the computer. 75% of readers found this review helpful. A necessary for your iPodStrengths: Works great, matching my iPod color and style Weakness: Why Apply took this off the standard iPod package? It's a MUST for the iPod. To me it's not an accessory, but a necessary. I have a video iPod, slim and cool looking. However the battery can't be changed, and won't last for a long time. This AC enabled me to charge the iPod wherever there's a power plug. It's not huge, and I have no problem put it in my purse and carry it with my iPod. :) 50% of readers found this review helpful. Apple iPod USB Power AdapterStrengths: It works Weakness: Bulky, expensive, requires a different cable (included) Apple drops the price of the Mini Ipod, but makes it back in accessories. If your travelling and won't have access to computer with a USB port (the only way to charge your Ipod as it's sold), you'll need to invest in a power adapter. I don't know why they call it a USB power adapter, because the USB cable that comes with the Ipod doesn't fit. You have to use the cable that comes with the adapter. That's just what I needed - another cable to keep track of. 50% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

compatible with ipod photoStrengths: It is very small and powerful for charging the ipod photo although ipod photo is a eat-power guy. The output ac is 5v 1.oA, I find it is enough to drive the mp3. Weakness: I haven't found any problem for it I have bought some power adapter to charge my ipod photo mp3 because it need more power than normal ipod or mini ipod. I have a fire bull that can supply 5.2v 2.0a power, but it is not compatiable with my ipod. So I have to buy another one. Today I find it works very well with ipod photo although it only supply 5v 1.0a power. I suggest it is a better choice for guys that search for a suitable power adapter for their ipod photo. 25% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Aug 23, 2006 Are you sure you didn't accidently order the Firewire Power Adapter instead of the USB adapter? That would explain why your cable did not fit.

Genuine Apple iPod ChargerStrengths: compact, easy to use Weakness: only charges one at a time A must have if you travel with your iPod. Folding prongs are removable...they hide a port where a standard AC cord can be plugged in for added versatility...clever in an Apple sort of way! Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Ipod Charger is handy item...Strengths: Can be used with any ipod, works great, charges quickly! Any ipod cable can be plugged into USB port on charger. Will work with ipod shuffle 2nd generation. Great Item. Good for traveling when a computer is not available to charge your ipod. Small compact size is also an advantage. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

the solution to iPod chargingStrengths: charges ipod through ac power, supports usb cables, apple brand Weakness: price, no cable included, white color gets dirty easy this adapter is the solution to charging your ipod, it uses the same usb 2.0 cable to charge through ac power. it's light, easy to use, and you don't have to worry about this charger affecting your ipod's because it's apple brande. it's kinda expensive at $29, because there's 3rd party chargers that cost like $15 but i believe it's better to get appple brand. great charger, works great. iPod USB Power AdapterStrengths: not restrict to connect the iPod to the computer and style matching with it Weakness: Very Expensive for a wall charger only. After purchasing my Ipod for about a month, I found it very inconvenience constantly turn on my computer to charge it. So, I finally brought the ipod USB adapter to avoid having any hassles. Seems pricey. Why aren't there non-Apple makers of...Strengths: Stylish Apple design for Apple enthusiasts. No cable, really does accept the iPod USB cable. Weakness: Compared to modern cell phone chargers, could be much smaller. Can't sit flat against the wall; sticks out 2.25 inches. Apple controls the market price tightly, I still paid $29, no tax or shipping. My first iPod mini (bought for Christmas 2004) came with two cables, firewire and USB, so one cable stays with the PC, one stays with the charger. To my dismay, my 2nd iPod mini (July 2005) came with USB cable only and no charger (I did not read the description closely). So, I had to buy this. And since there is only one cable, you have to keep the cable with the iPod if your PC is in one room and you charge overnight in another room. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Meets all expectations
Strengths: Charges easily all full size iPods (4Gen and later), 2Gen mini, and Shuffle
Weakness: Cost, not included with full size iPod (5Gen video)
I've had a shuffle for a while, and never purchased this charger, as I could always charge it through my powered USB2 hub if the computer wasn't on. But I just recently bought a 5G (video) iPod and, although I wasn't surprised, it didn't come with this adapter. Since the battery life for video can be short, and thought I might have the need to power the iPod away from the computer. An added bonus is that I can charge my shuffle as well with it.
Also note, if you have enabled disk mode with a shuffle, the light continually blinks orange when charging, never turning green to indicate a complete charge, if it is not "ejected" from Windows. The shuffle also blinks orange with USB hubs, never letting you know when it's done (you have to estimate, 3-4 hours for full charge.) However, with this Apple adapter, it WILL tell you when it is complete, whether or not you have enabled disk mode.
Nothing special to note about its features when charging a full size iPod, except that you must have your USB/dock connector cable with you to plug it into the adapter.
Airport Express will also charge any iPod this adapter does, but I don't want to carry around this $100+ device for charging. The same flaw noted with the shuffle and powered USB2 hubs mentioned above, however, is present in this situation.
Shuffle only users: Rethink this purchase -- how often are you actually going to be away from your computer and how often do you actually charge it now?
Yes, I'm happy, but I think the cost is a bit high, even with my 10% academic discount from Apple. Not absolutely necessary for everybody. Perhaps I could have gone with a generic alternative, but would be slightly worried that it could blow up or something, and I also have some of Apple international adapter plugs that work well with this adapter. In other words, the Apple white always looks cool...
