Weakness: Costs a few dollars more if you are getting the scanner for a Mac versus Windows.

The various options allows people to choose based on their preferences.

Duplex scanning. You can also manage scan profiles by sorting them according to the way you want the scans grouped.

AC and USB power options. As with any device where you power it only via usb that will slow down your computer processes a bit.

Otherwise, the compactness, user-friendliness, and various options meet the needs of a basic everyday user who wants something nice and simple.

Scanner review

Strengths: Good quality, double-sided scanning

Weakness: Bit expensive, flatbeds are cheaper

I bought this scanner recently. Great feature is the ability to instantly and quickly scan documents double-sided in a single pass. Of course, it's not a flat bed, so only expect to scan individual documents. USB-powered scanning is maybe twice as slow compared to when power is drawn from mains, but it's convenient not to have to plug into mains. Overall - recommended.

ScanSnap S300M

Strengths: Easy set up, easy operation, all cables included. Put in any paper, push the button. It doesn't get much easier than that. Takes up no space on the desk

Weakness: A little pricy, but I suppose that it would be hard to put a price on perfection.

I have been using this scanner for just over a week and I am desperately looking for a flaw, either in the scanner or the software. Being a cynical person at heart I figured their must be something that isn't perfect about this product. I have never made a purchase that hasn't had some drawback, even a minor one.
