Imac is pretty cool stuff

Strengths: Fast boot up, Easy for new mac user

Weakness: Cost to much, need to get new software,nice keyboard but worthless, mouse is weird but works

I have looked at Macs for a long time, I guess I finally played with one at a big retail store. It was fun and pretty easy to use for someone who has never touched an Apple computer. I did buy a Ipad a few months ago to replace my Iphone that the phone is pretty much worthless in fringe areas but love the wifi. I had a choice to replace a two year old Quad core running Windows Vista without any problems but like new computer ever two years. If I buy a new Windows machine with Windows seven most of my real old software will not work on it. Well what have I got to lose but $1900.00 on an imac. I purchased the $1699.00, i3 4gb, 1tb hard drive and 512 mb video at a large retail store but not going to say who. Drove home happy and broke, Got home and pulled this monster out of the box and plugged her in. I was using it within a few minutes after power up. Not like my Vista waiting for five minutes for updates and virus protection crap. Did not have anything like Microsoft office so I went online and got iwork. I guess its ok but still learning. Well my old HP printer did not like my new Imac. Went to the big office retailer not going to say who but big office retailer and got an HP 6500A Plus all in one. Salesman did not know much on imac but he was a Windows kind of guy since thats all they sell I guess. He said may not work with Imac so I took a chance figuring being wireless all the family of five Windows computers could use it if all fails with my imac. I set the printer up and turned it on back in the other room. I went to iwork typed some crap then located print to Hp6500, Now I have not even put the disk in this monster or seen it looking for a printer. Heck, it found it wirelessly and loaded some kind of software off the web. It worked great on my imac then on five other Windows computers all wirelessly. I am still getting over the price but I think I will really enjoy it. I will still use my old Windows Vista machine because of the old software but if you can afford one, Buy one.....
